29 down and 11 to go!

I can't believe that I have finished my 29th week (6/25/10) and have started my 30th! This pregnancy has flown by compared to Taylor! This week we had a Dr. appt on Friday. Everything looked really good. I passed my glucose test with a 95 (needs to be under 140). The nurse told me that with that score I needed to go eat some donuts and pancakes for breakfast! I didn't do that but I did have a Chick-Fil-A bacon egg and cheese biscuit. We also heard Morris' heartbeat, it was 144bpm. Dr R said everything looked great and that Morris was taking good care of me. Funny how Morris gets all the credit! :)

This week also brought a familiar discomfort. The Night time leg cramps! Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights I was up a few times stretching out my legs. Then on Thursday Night I thought I was going to die! I was up 5 times with severe cramps that left me hurting all day Friday. Morris told me I needed to eat bananas and to go get some. He told me to get enough so that he could make banana pudding. I told him that would not have the same affect. SO...... on Friday at the Dr. Office he asked Dr. R if banana pudding would have the same affect as a fresh banana and Dr. R said "Absolutely, it might have more potassium in it". I died laughing. So we had banana pudding this weekend...YUM. Here is a picture of it.

How is Morris growing?
Your baby measures about 10.4 inches from crown to rump, or a total length of about 16.7 inches from head to toe, and weighs about 2.7 pounds. At this stage a fetus's eyes are almost always blue and can distinguish bright sunlight or artificial light through the uterine wall. Baby is performing fewer acrobatics as conditions in the womb become more cramped, but still doing a lot of kicking and stretching.

My 29 week Bump pictures:

We got started on the Closet in the Nursery. We took out the shelf and patched and painted the holes. We also started putting together the storage unit that is going to go in there. We hope to get that done in the next few days. I will post pictures when it is done.

Contractions

I was fortunate with Taylor to not have Braxton Hicks contractions, but that is not the case this time. For the past 3 nights I have had several contractions around 5 to 10 minutes apart. They don't hurt at all, but they are kind of annoying...mainly b/c it reminds me how little time I have to get everything done.

I have worked on the bedding for the past 2 nights straight. I think we made a good bit of progress last night. The bumper should be coming together any day now! Can't wait to have a major item under my belt. Then I will move on to the Crib Skirt and Blankets. I am hoping to have enough material left to make a pillow or 2. We will see. :)

Still no progress in the nursery but that will change after this weekend. Yeah!

28 weeks down and only 12 to go!

I know that you can't see a change in the Nursery, primarily b/c there hasn't been a change, but we have productive! We got the fan installed in Taylor's room, bought Paint for the Nursery and I started on the bedding. Hopefully I can make some progress on the bedding this weekend...starting with the bumper! Wish me luck!
We have our next doctors appt next week and I take my glucose test. Not really worried about that at all. I can't believe we are already to the every two week appts. These next 12 weeks are going to fly by!

How is Morris?
Baby's lungs are mature enough that, if born right now, he has a pretty good chance of surviving (with help from medical technology). His skin is still pretty wrinkly (one byproduct of living in amniotic fluid) but will smoothen as fat continues to deposit.

Second Finished??? Really???

So today ends my 27th week and we got to go to the Dr. Our appointment was at 8:45 and we didn't get an ultrasound (not that I expected one). We got to hear his heartbeat which was 159bpm! He always has a really strong beat! **As I type this he is going nuts in my belly...being a wiggle worm!** The Dr said everything looks really good. As he went to measure my belly he said "You have started your 3rd trimester", I looked at him and said "Really???" Him and Morris laughed...I am supposed to know that right! I guess this pregnancy has flown by and the pressure is on for me to get some things done! Morris and I are hoping to get by Lowes to pick out paint and buy the ceiling fans that we need for Taylor's room and the Nursery. That will be a huge step right there. By the way does anyone have a 15+ foot ladder we can borrow??

My Bump Picture:

Yes I am getting huge! I know that I am and for some reason people really like reminding or pointing it out. This week I had a second person ask me if I was carrying twins. When I told her no she looked mortified! Just about everyone that asks when I am due, they glance at my belly and then give me that confused look. It has actually gotten quite funny! My weight gain is actually better this time than it was with Taylor but for some reason I am big really early. This should get interesting! :)

Until next week...

26 Weeks and Counting!

So this week was fun! Saturday, Sunday and Monday we were in TN. Tuesday and Wednesday were normal work days but Thursday was big! Thursday we went to Virginia College to get an ultrasound. They are free and last about 30 minutes long. I ended up getting 2 back to back b/c they had several women not show up and they were short babies. I had a total of 3 techs looking at our baby and all 3 did confirm the Gender to be a BOY. So that is always comforting. The machines they use are not as good of quality as in the hospital but it was free right! I ended up with 5 pictures and I will try to explain what they are.

This first one is his beautiful profile!
This one is a little harder to explain. To the far left is the round belly. In the dark area in the center to the right is actually the Chin, Mouth and Nose, with his fists covering his eyes. When I scanned this one I lost some of the dimension that made it easier to see.
This is his foot with 5 toes! Always good to have 5 of those little piggies.
To the left you see an A printed on the picture that begins his femur...she was measuring it. He stretched out his legs for us and they looked amazing! He has very meaty legs!
This picture is labeled as the heart, but if you are not used to these pictures you might not can see it. In the center of the picture there is what looks like a butterly with its weeks spread out. That is showing the 4 chambers of the heart. If the picture was a video then you could see the valves in the middle moving and the beating of the heart. Super cool!

So that is our precious baby boy at 26 weeks gestation! He looks wonderful!

My picture:
Yes the Nursery has been filled back up at this point. We had company over on Saturday and we had find a place for all of this stuff other than the dinning room table. I think our schedule has lightened up a little bit for a while so we should be able to focus on getting things ready!

25 weeks down!

5/22/10-5/28/2010:
On Saturday we had another Yard Sale. This time it was the Chelsea Park Neighborhood Garage Sale. It went really well and we were able to make some money for our trip. I also listed Taylor's crib bedding on Craigs list and sold it for exactly the amount I wanted! It was also short work week. We left Thursday night to go to TN for the long weekend!
How is Morris IV growing?

Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.
My 25 Week Bump:

I realized that I have worn this shirt for 3 of my bump pictures. So I decided to do a side by side comparison. I think I am growing way too quickly. Oh Well! :)

Next week is going to be super busy so we will see how that goes! See you then!
