Worthy of a Post

Baby is on the move!
Monday (3/29/2010) I felt a strong thump in my lower belly right at the pant line. Almost like he/she was irritated by my bending over. Then Tuesday(3/30/2010) I felt another one with some soft movement after (kinda like the rubbling in your stomach but this was not in my stomach, that is just what it felt like). So last night I was laying in the bed on my left side and felt the movement again. I got Morris to put is hand there and apply a little pressure to irritate the baby. He did and after a few minutes and some major patience the baby thumped him. I say thump b/c that is what it feels like....it is probably a kick but the baby is still so small that it just feels like a soft thump. It was really cool to get to feel that so early and for Morris to feel it! I didn't feel Taylor until around 20 weeks and it was a few days later before Morris felt her. I guess I know what I am looking for this time so I am able to recognize it faster!
Thanks for sharing this adventure with us! It is such an exciting time!

13 days and counting!....

16 down and 24 to go!

Created 3/26/2010
Less than 6 months left to go! Putting it that way really scares me b/c we have accomplished absolutely nothing in the house! I guess we really need to get on that! We went for our 3rd Dr. Appt today. We didn't get an ultrasound b/c Dr. R refers to me as the perfect patient and I never have anything wrong. That is a good thing I am sure, but I wish we could have seen our Peanut. My weight is looking good and the baby's heartrate was 156bpm. Dr. R asked me to come back in 3 weeks to have our BIG Ultrasound and he ask that we come on a Tuesday or Thursday instead of a Friday b/c they have more ultrasound techs on those days. So of course I chose Tuesday! So we will find out what we are having April 13th at 9:00AM! Just TWO WEEKS away! I can't wait!

This week I have battled a serious sinus issue. I have completed the Z-pac, but I am not sure it did any good. The worst part about the sinus stuff is that in the morning it makes me sick to my stomach. So I am having to battle both at the same time. Hopefully, this phase will pass soon! Also, I started getting out the maternity shirts. I don't need the maternity pants yet but the shirts have really helps my comfort level.

15 Down and 25 to go!

Well this week has been a bit better. The nausea is defnitely better even though it is not completely gone. The days are good but right before bed is my roughest time. So I am still taking a 4mg Zofran just before I lay down or when I feel sick. I have slacked off on my water intake, which is not good. I am going to try to get better about that so that I can get my energy back. Despite my need for calcium, I am cutting back on Milk. It seems that every time I drink a glass it makes me feel sick. So for now...not really doing milk.

How is baby doing?

Baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces. She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds.

So as you can tell the Bump has arrived! However, I am still in the awkward stage where everyone thinks I am pregnant but too scared to ask. I am waiting for the day that a stranger asks me "So when are you due?". That is always a HUGE milestone!

Until Next week....

Really? only 26 more to go!

So the 14th week flew by! It helps that I didn't get sick enough to miss work! The first week in 8 weeks that I haven't missed a day of work! I am so grateful! Week 14 was a good week b/c Wednesday was our 4 year anniversary and Morris gave me beautiful flowers! White daisys, these beautiful orange flowers that looked like an orange Iris and of course Sunflowers! Sunflowers are my favorite! Also, on Friday My mom kept Taylor so that we could go on a date! We went to PF Changs (my favorite) and to a movie. We saw Green Zone. It was nice to just spend time together and talk!

How is baby doing?
The baby is now about 3.5inches. Baby is now practicing breathing the amniotic fluid in and out of it's lungs. The facial muscels are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body.

Through One, Two more to go!!!

3/5/2010

Wow! finished week 13 already! I am officially into my second trimester! I can't say that the sickness has gone away but I am definitely having more GOOD days than bad! Praise God for that! This week was Mostly uneventful for us, which is sometimes a good thing. My Best Friend's Little girl Karis did turn two this week! That is always exciting! I couldn't be with them to celebrate in person but I was definitely celebrating in heart! Morris and I also bought a second vehicle! That is very exciting! We have been relying on one car for 3 years now, so this is a big step for us!

How is baby doing?
There are a lot of things going on this week! All twenty teeth have formed and are waiting. Baby approximately weighs in at 1 ounce (28.3 grams). Consider that the placenta weighs about an ounce now as well. Baby's intestines are migrating from the umbilical cord into his or her abdomen. The villi are also forming in the intestines, these help in peristaltic movements and digestion. The pancreas of your little one is even secreting insulin!

12 Weeks Down and 28 to go!

Only one more week until I finish my first trimester! All moms/preggos would agree that getting through the first trimester is a lot of work and a major test do your mental stability! The one good thing about this pregnancy is that I have TWO daily support people! Morris obviously is my biggest support and help, but don't under estimate Taylor. She is a wonderful support. She reminds me everyday that Life goes on....Sick or not! Fortunately the last 2 days of this week have been fairly good. I am hoping that is a sign of things to come!

We had our second doctor's visit today and our second ultrasound! Everything looked very good! The baby is 5.74cm long and had a heart be of 153bpm. Baby is actually measuring 2 days big even though I have lost several pounds over the last four weeks. The nurse measured the Nuchal fold and it was normal size, which is great! Here are 2 pictures from the ultrasound.

Baby is now the size of a Plum:

11 Down, 29 to go!

Created 2/19/2010

29! doesn't that sound so strange! Week 11 was an eventful week. First the Olympics were on every night....I can't resist the Olympics! Second I was terribly sick on Wednesday and it carried over through Thursday, to the point I had a fever. The weekend is full as well. My Sister-in-law, Cynthia, is getting married on Saturday and My Sister-in-law, Laura, has a baby shower on Sunday.....Both very exciting! Also during week 11 I reached a huge milestone that I talked about in my week 4 post. I reached my pre-preggo weight (that is before Taylor). Obviously this is not the way I wanted to do it, but at least now I can say I lost the weight before I had a second child! Yes I know that is a stretch...but I am married to a fisherman!

How is Baby Growing?
Baby currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through it. But fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds, and nail beds are forming -- setting up a significantly more attractive future. Baby has experienced a large growth spurt and is now the roughly the size of a lime....
